with summer slowly winding down, we’ve all seemed to be in a funk here this past week on tumblr. it’s no secret; blogs and music lovers adore summer, and it’ll be sad to see it go. but i see no reason not to embrace the change from humidity to cooler weather, leaf color changing, halloween, returning to school; there are plenty of things to look forward to.
but summer is still here. and for our july mixtape, walker and i have created a sort of farewell to summer featuring some of our favorite tracks from the past month (and before) to highlight the shift of summer to fall. you’ll recognize some of them from previous posts. some of them are new. all are wonderful. if you do download this and enjoy it, please do support the artists by visiting their homepages, discover more tracks by them, become a fan, buy their records, spread the word…anything you can to get the word out about how much great music is coming out right now and to get these guys more attention. all reblogs and likes are definitely noticed and appreciated. a lot of these artists have been kind enough to send out their music to us (and thus to you all) for free, so all support is greatly welcome.
